a god that waits...
starlight
who is this hateful god that waits...
building heavens pearly gates...
while millions of his children starve...
suffering...their only fate...
this god is just one of many excuse...
for man to be ignorantly obtuse...
to not own responsibility..
in prayer he falls down on his knee...
blame the devil pray to god...
while onward christian soldiers trod...
the jews kill for their sacred land...
the muslims have their own god plan...
strap on a bomb blow israel up...
oh will we please just all grow up...
stop running from reality...
joining buddhist camp for free...
we search for happiness and peace...
or stuff ourselves with food to eat...
or buy more clothes that we wont wear...
drive gas guzzlers everywhere...
drink our wine take our pills...
close our eyes to all we kill...
while we fight over absolutes...
who really, really gives a hoot?
we wait for god...to make a move...
we know we are the chosen few...
we hide our fear with fantasy...
but oh how we all do believe...
this hateful god that waits to love...
sits on a throne in heaven above...
this must be justification for hate...
this idea of a god that waits...

i completely understand what your alluding to here (at least i think i do).
but i’m left wondering why the philosophy of non-duality is so non-compelling to the vast majority of folks on this planet. endless eons of bloodshed and misery juxtaposed to the joy and happiness of the few forever and ever is what we seem to have to look forward to……….
i guess i realize that i am ‘dualizing’ non-non-duality here, but nevertheless; i just don’t see the alternative of the ever present now experience as being all that compelling either…………..
andrew…much love to you…i know we kid on the gv…but i have always noticed within you a depth of caring…and when we care deeply, it is difficult to understand how we can be comfortable in our own being, when it seems the world is going crazy within theirs…but it is that duality of individual spirit, that allows us to rejoice with those that rejoice, and feel sadness with those that feel sadness, and still remain ever present in our own being…in that ever present now…that can bring the very balance and knowledge to surface that can make a difference in our own lives as well as in those lives we touch…
it’s a mystery…this ever present abiding of being…but as the mystery unravels all the joy and sorrow…it allows for space within itself to just be…and time for being to dance…and a knowing that dives deeper and helps us to understand, that we are not in this alone…
may you be filled with peace and joy in this ever present now…where potential for being is ever alive…happy new year…*
i started not to post this, b/c i did not want it to be misunderstood…you see, this hateful god does not exist…but the wondrous mystery of being is weaved into this fabric of earth…and within everything that has life…and it is up to those that know compassion…to allow this compassion to spread out to others…ever flowing back and forth in this dance we are doing in space and time…this knowledge that we have concerning what we we are, may it ever be overflowing in the everflowing stream of compassion, to all of humanity…

ange…your comment is poetry…and i so appreciate it, especially on this entry, as it is not easy sometimes to post certain pieces, b/c i know that there are many wonderful beings here on Gaia, that might misunderstand what i am trying to express with all compassion…sometimes the warmth of compassion is blocked out by our own frozen positions, that within my own being are still being integrated in this ever present now…i am so often reminded when pieces like this do materialize, that it is many times my own knowing that is mingling with itself, and trying to find expression that will flow into the being of others, and be known as only compassion…
may we all be ever reminded that we are the ones here now…this is our time…may we dance compassions dance together…in joy*
